What a great presentation last night from our friends at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security!

Thank you to Harley D. Rinerson for coming to Laramie to be our keynote speaker at 3 hosted presentations. We learned so much and had a great time helping you educate the community on cyber security.

Cyberspace and its underlying infrastructure are vulnerable to a wide range of risk stemming from both physical and cyber threats and hazards. Sophisticated cyber actors and nation-states exploit vulnerabilities to steal information and money and are developing capabilities to disrupt, destroy, or threaten the delivery of essential services.

With our increasing reliance in an interconnected world on cyber security the Department of Homeland Security is providing cyber security services to the Nations Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources (CIKR) and State, Local, Territorial, and Tribal (SLTT) governments.

It was full house at the Holiday Inn Laramie for the New Business Roundtable on Cyber Security.

Harley D. Rinerson is the Cyber Security Advisor for the United States Department of Homeland Security, Region VIII (which is CO, MT, ND, SD, UT, and WY.)

Harley earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of South Dakota followed with a Masters of Military Arts and Science from the ‘United States Army Command & General Staff College’ and a M.B.A. from Colorado State University.

He served as an active duty Army officer for twenty two years, as well as worked for the Governor of the State of Colorado as his Chief Information Security Officer.  Prior to joining the Department of Homeland Security he worked as the Director of Compliance for the Denver International Airport.

Harley has been active in not-for-profits serving as President for the ‘Denver Chapter of InfraGard’ and Senior Advisor to the ‘Colorado Emergency Prepardness Parternship.’
